My Ride: My Learnings
Ride to Nawabganj Bird Sanctuary
“Peace is our basic instinct. We always find out the ways to move away from inner and outer chaos and surrender ourselves to the shelter of calmness.”
Our motive of this Sunday ride to feel the serenity of beautiful nature. Where there is no noise of the outer world and no restlessness of inner world.
Nawabganj Bird Sanctuary is located in Unnao district on Lucknow-Kanpur Highway in Uttar Pradesh.Nawabganj Bird Sanctuary is now known as Shaheed Chandrashekhar Azad Bird Sanctuary. It consists of a lake and beautiful green surrounding. This is approximate 40 km from Lucknow. We floated a message on WhatsApp group about this ride plan and five of us were ready with their machines. As always, we all were excited. We gathered at 6.30 in morning near Chaudhry Charan Singh International Airport. Earlier it was known as Amausi International Airport. All the bike papers and license were checked before leaving, as in any ride no rider is allowed to ride without proper safety gears and required documents. We started from there at 6.45 am.
This is a crowded highway but the number of local commuters is higher than the transporting vehicles. We arranged ourselves in single line formation, where all the bikes are in one line during the ride.We maintained a distance of approximately one bike between the two bikes. Headlights of bikes were remained on to identify the fellow riders coming behind. In case we don’t get a sight of a fellow rider in the rear mirror, we stop and wait until she comes into radar.
I am always curious to find different lessons of life in every activity.
A group ride and the vehicle formation teach wonderful lessons of riding and life;
1) It’s all about discipline and understanding. There is no need to rush hurriedly or overtake sometimes. Be patient.
In life too, don’t rush everytime, don’t sniff every single moment, go slow, if required-stop, wait for people who decided to walk with you.Value them.
2) Controlling the urge of fast riding .In a group, we carry responsibility for each other. We all are wonderful riders with heavy bikes.Combination of heavy bikes and smooth higway is extremely provoking. But we learn to control this madness and ride with full attention.
Many big attraction in life ruins the joy of small things.Don’t get distracted by these offerings.Control mind , observe , analyse and do whatever is right.
3) A disciplined group bike ride is fantastic example of nonverbal communication. Even our bikes understand the language of speed modulation and headlights.
Give rest to tongue. It will soothe mind too. Be in silent conversation with mind and listen what does it convey.
4) Riding is meditative.
Focus on the journey, the present moment. Result will automatically be beautiful.Dedicate yourself fully.
There was a toll also on the.way to Lucknow to Nawabganj. But two wheelers are free on this toll.I can’t forget one of my friends remark here (Ranjana) ” Oh tolls are free in India for two wheeler, ab to mujhe bike leni hi padegi”.Believe me, her leg is still pulled by us and will always be….
We reached Nawabganj by 7.30 am. That was a beautiful, quiet place. The beauty of this place lies in its green surrounding, soothing breeze and chirping of birds. It was like we are altogether in a different world. How beautiful God has created the nature and we human beings have ruined it to fulfil our luxurious desires. I was completely lost in this mesmerizing natural scenery.
All of us were crazy to get pictures. A lot of fun, gossip and photography made the morning memorable.Though we could not spot any specific breed of bird, however a cute little monkey caught our attention.
After having a walk in jungle , we were feeling hungry as our biological clock started tickling. There is an inside restaurant of U.P tourism, we excitedly entered there and a big news we got that the restaurant would start at 10 am.Oh Gosssh…….we were not in mood to hold our hunger. So we decided to move back and would stay at any mid point dhaba. As we started, just after the toll gate, we found a beautifully built and well managed dhaba “Awadh ki Rasoi.” As we entered their, our eyes were wide opened to see the macho machines “Harley Davidsons.” That was a breathtaking moment to see 14 shining bright HD, well organized in parking. Real sexy machines I must admit. We forgot our empty stomachs for a while. After few seconds we all came back into our senses and met a group of HD riders.Nice people they were. They appreciated the efforts that we all are making to create a difference in society.
After heavy breakfast of poori bhaji, tea and kalajaam, and a superbly beautiful time with friends, we started our bikes and went back to our houses.
We are so engrossed in our day today lives that we even forget to stop for a while and take a deep breath.Live life, spare time to meet friends, laugh with them, find out what you love and follow that.Life is beautiful, fill your lungs with its fragrance.
