My mantra has been just one thing ever since it was taught to me: Life isn’t about chance. And you don’t need a story to tell. There are just choices and choices.
There has been an ancient metaphysical concept which our ancestors actively advocated and it’s called Karma. Today we look at Karma as punishment and reward. But Karma has never been so polar.
What if you saw everything as a choice and not as a mere consequence? What if all these ‘consequences’ are actually just opportunities? And what if opportunities are once again further choices which are revealed to you?
We never complained about consequences when we were hurt during childhood. We just learned to get up and move forward hoping to grow up and be strong someday. The truth I see is that that willingness to persist and learn is the real strength.
Nothing happens to you because of chance. So you don’t need to always have a story to tell. If you do like telling stories, remember that you’re just entertaining yourself as well as the patient listeners. What you actually have are choices.
You’re NOT heartbroken and neither am I. “That’s just an interesting point of view!” as Gary Douglas often says. Actually, you’re expanding. Your expansion is shattering all your barriers and you are becoming an avalanche.
But that’s a choice. You needn’t do that. You could stay safe. But would you like that? Safety is a very unsafe place to be. I’d rather face my challenges and rise up.
Whether you choose to choose or you don’t, you’re still choosing. Just remember that.
